excersise 2: Neck 2

exercise 2
NECK
2: Nodding Forward and Back.

Following a short rest with the head tilted forward chin 'resting' upon the neck, gently raise the head until the eyes look upwards. Try to use ONLY the muscles in the neck and limit referral movement further down the body i.e. shoulder's or waist.
Repeat this nodding forward a back say 9 times and conclude again with head resting. Whilst this exercise is not devised as a breathing exercise, it is however probable that the practitioner would naturally coordinate the breath to out as the head goes forward and in as it goes back. In the latter of these positions (head back) the windpipe is 'wide-open'.
To advance the exercise try to also allow the chin to be subject to gravity thus becoming wider (and wider and wider!) mouthed as the head tips further back with each separate part reaching a maximum at the same time.
