Issue 63 April 2007
Regular readers of this newsletter will know that I have a consultancy with regional group of the Parkinson's Disease Sufferers Society. We meet together once a month. The group is mixed about 50/50 sufferers and careers/partners. I think it is fair to say that we are all over 50 in years! Of the sufferers some are in the early stages of the onset and others far more progressed and control the disease with a drug regime that has its own 'symptomatic' side effects.

Issue 64 May 2007

Issue 66 August 2007
The Five Elements and their associations and characteristics. The elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water pervade through Eastern culture and philosophy and have a significant bearing upon the martial arts and tai chi in particular. Tai Chi makes use of the chi energy flowing through the body’s meridian lines – in many ways in the same principle to acupuncture, and in both cases the Five Elements play an important part in its cycle.

Issue 67 September 2007
Tai chi we know has many forms, many styles and Schools. It also has variations beyond the ‘standard’ concept of what tai chi is: amongst others there are tai chi Ruler, tai chi Walking, Pushing Hands, tai chi Fan, tai chi Stick and tai chi Sword. Some are meditative or for exercise, some are combative.

Issue 68 October 2007
This month Gary, in inspired by his own inbox, takes a look at the concept of Kung Fu – and almost immediately comes up with answers that you aren’t expecting. But the process applies (as you will see) to tai chi – and indeed to all arts, martial or not.

Issue 69 November 2007
