How we do it here...
structured & ongoing study of the Long Yang Form
| Part Three of the Long Yang Form at Taichido: Study
notes |
Taichido 'Advanced/Tai Chi Chuan - Ch'eng Style.
We are about to together commence study of Part Three (some
'again') of the Yang Long Form.
The group consists of three that have previously undertaken
a study of the whole form, one of those by following my instructions
and the other two with master Raymond Wood. Of the other three
members - one has undergone thorough training in allied arts
and the other two have basically (at least as far as Tai Chi
Form is concerned) learnt all that they know (Part One and
Part Two) from myself. The last of these has been a member
of the group for about three years, the other for two years
and the other (the one with most training from elsewhere)
about a year. The group as a whole has been together for six.
I give you this 'useless information' only to show that any
group daring to call themselves 'advanced' are unlikely to
have taken the same route to where they are now ... and when
is 'now' anyway?
This group meets every Wednesday Evening to practice and
study at
43 St. Mary's Road, Southampton, UK.
At other times the group keep in touch with each other through
E-mail, the web and phone - and they may even at times meet
without me being there! This is not 'right' or 'wrong' and
is simply accommodated by the facilities and resources of
www.taichido.com.
In truth the group holds itself together nowadays - virtually.
Articles published to www.taichido.com and my own associated
"Doshi Home" are the direct product
and record of the salient points covered by the group (whomever
they are that night) during physical meetings here at the
house or in a local park.
Of the group numerated above, quite frankly, rare are the
weeks that the all 'turn-up'. Common attendance would be realistically
set at half. This is again neither right or wrong, it is just
the way things are. Such behavior (discourtesy, poor discipline/self
control) would simply not be tolerated in most 'proper' Martial
Arts organization adhering to true Budo standard ... none
whatsoever in the East! But this (taichido) is neither Eastern
or true Budo - but it is the best that I can do and hey ...
six years! Better than a poke in the eye with blunt stick!
Question: Where is
Tai Chi?
Answer: Tai Chi is
where You are; not where I am!
So, my question to
you is ... Where are You and What Do You Do?
I ask this because where we or I am need not be any impairment
to
You joining this group!
Apparently (as evidenced by the very kind comments freely
given to our Guest Book) Taichido.com makes itself useful
to all sorts of people in all sorts of places, most of which
I could never have imagined ... ever!
Would you care to
join this group?
No Membership Charge
- none of that!
No Strings ... just
...
Tai Chi where you
are, Tai Chi where we are, Tai Chi Together!
Sessions commence late August/beginning of September 2,001.
Contact me or Mark by E-mail to simply establish a first connection
and commence communication!
The format (as above in the blue box) will be systematically
and logically followed with other associated investigation's
(Chuan applications etc.) made along the way. All activities
and feedback of interest shall be published to the web and/or
posted to your intray via E-mail.
